Set up Email in Outlook

Adding a new account

Open Outlook
Select Personal Folders
Choose Tools->Account Settings
(Alternatively Tools->Options select Mail Settings Click Email Accounts)
Outlook add email account

Click “New”
Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP

Click Next
Tick “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”
Outlook 2007 Auto Account Setup

Click Next
Outlook 2007 choose email service
Select “Internet Email”

Click Next

Type a name into your name
Enter the email address into E-Mail Address
Account type either POP3 or IMAP (IMAP requires some additional settings see below)
Incoming mail server “smtp.server-room.co.uk”
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) “imap.server-room.co.uk”
User name is your full email address e.g. inf@example.org
Password enter your password

More Settings

Click More Settings
Select the Outgoing server tab
Outlook 2007 More Settings Outgoing Server

Tick “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”

Select the Advanced tab
Outlook 2007 More Settings Advanced
Incoming Server should be 143 for IMAP 110 for POP3
Change Outgoing Server (SMTP) to 587

Click OK to return to Internet E-Mail Settings
Click Test Account Settings

You should see status completed for both Log onto incoming mailserver and Send test email.

Click Close
Click Next

A warning will pop up, Click OK
Click Finish.
